An image can have all it needs to have from technical point of view but if it doesn't evoke relatable emotions, it won't bring much value to your brand.

Creating to Feel...

I'm a very passionate person who feels emotions deeply and I feel like this has tremendously shaped my style of photography.

When I first started as a professional photographer, the question of "What is the Essence of a Photo" drove me crazy. Searching through all kinds of educational photography books, nobody seemed to talk about anything else beyond technical rules that apply to correctly taken image.

And so intuitively, since my first paid project, I started to chase something outside of the rules. I was drawn to the emotions of the moment.

I find that emotions are that important piece of puzzle that portrays the essence of whatever I photograph. During documenting events, I am absolutely fascinated by how people experience their emotions - what moves them and how it affects them, especially when they let their guard down.

Waiting and reading people's body language, anticipating and then when the moment arrives, taking that important shot, is an alfa-omega of my approach. My focus is always on being able to deliver a product where a person sees her or his true self in the shot I took.

When I photograph experiences and brands it's all about what emotions the experience embodies that can be relatable to the viewer. In these types of projects it comes down to manufacturing emotional stories that touch the humans senses, evoking feelings the viewer wants to feel and that makes her or him take action.

Your Real Purpose Will Always Find You

I'm a photographer born out of corporate prisoner. After years of multiple law schools and a few years in the legal industry, my true purpose found me when I least expected it.

Looking back, I can say that the need to tell stories has always been there in me, one way or another. Since childhood I had gravitated towards creative hobbies, especially storytelling, that in my teens & 20's I mostly expressed through writing.

I also always somehow "got" others. Interpersonal communication was and to this day is my thing. Friends would approach me to talk about their problems, I was the go-to person to help with whatever task because I loved to dive into a problem, analyse and explain. It feels like my choice to go to law school was a desperate desire to use all these passions in "serious profession" and law just made sense in that regard.

It was exactly during my college years that I discovered the joy of photographing. First as solely to document my memories especially as I was moving from country to country. But as I entered the workforce full time, my desire to photograph partially shifted to creating my own visual stories.

The toxic environment of corporate world mixed with a serious illness in my immediate family forced me on sick-leave at the age of 30 and all of a sudden I found myself lost & feeling like I could no longer relate to the version of myself I spent years building.

As I was embracing the healing journey, I would spend hours behind the camera. Being able to slow down and observe the world in its tiniest details through my lens brought the solace I didn't know I needed. In those healing months my passion for storytelling found me again and I would start creating my own visual narratives, experimenting with photography.

While on sick leave, I was approached by a big e-commerce brand to shoot lifestyle content for some of their products; a project I initially took out of sheer joy of creating. But as it happens in life, with this project, all the pieces of my creative self somehow fell into place and that's when I truly found my purpose.

Chasing Meaningful Projects

Where I am today

Going through such a major shift so early in my adult life made me realise how much I value being authentic and contributing my skills towards something that moves people and helps them see themselves differently.

I went from corporate over-achiever to a husky mom, nature roamer and a storyteller in the matter of months, yet it felt so natural, like I was always meant to become this.

Today I love working with Swedish and international brands & events that strive to have a positive impact in this world.
