Before It All Went Down...

documenting the important "in-between"

Right as people start to gather for the event that's my cue to pick up the camera and start documenting. The energy of the event is felt far before the event actually starts. The power is in all those joyous interactions of people meeting, exchanging smiles, hugs, stretching and all the anticipation that hangs in the air. It's all an important puzzle piece in an overall story that doesn't go unnoticed when I'm covering events.

Moving to The Beat.

As the event unfolded I focused both on photos and video. I wanted to showcase the massiveness of the event, not just from the attendance point of view but also the energy it created in the space. I walked around quietly to document the whole picture, focusing here and there on important details and individuals too.

Why is documenting such events important? Because it not only does justice to all the hard work you do in order to bring people an amazing experience like this but possibly encouraging people who see themselves beautifully captured in the photos afterwards to keep showing up and keep fighting for what they feel passionate about. 

It's a part I think often about when I am snapping photos from events like this one. Rather than mindlessly walking around, I want to care for each and everyone I point my camera at. Because the impact of a shot taken with care can be incredible...

The Feel of The "Afterwards"

Last piece of puzzle to not miss is the vibe of the space right after the event! It's that important details showcasing how the event made people feel, what impression it left in them. And that's again beautifully imprinted in the way people interact with one another and conversations held with the organisers.
